WINTERS WORLD IN PHOTOS FEATURING APPROACHING DAYS OF DESTINY FOR MIDDLESBROUGH AND RANGERS
21st May 2015

jeff winter
Mighty Boro and we're going up!! Hopefully you're correct Oliver.

Saturday came down to earth after The Riverside on Friday night. Its Norwich and already Nathan Redmond is doing what our opponents seem to do best, mouthing off pre match. Will they ever learn?

jeff winter
Sunday morning and off to Glasgow, full car today with Kenny in the front seat. Sarah was first passenger in the back, got in eating a piece of toast. Instead of saying hello, Kenny did a lovely bottom burp full of its normal pungency. Don't know if she fully enjoyed her toast!!

I thought I'd outdo him so when Garry and Cameron were both in the car and after gentle persuasion from myself they were all on sandwiches when I decided to tell them about the process I had carried out before setting off to do my bowel cancer test. Strangely Cameron started baulking as I vividly explained what had to be done with a fresh turd. I don't know - you try and educate people!!

Parked up very early and off to the Rolls Royce club before getting to the ground early, hoping to sample a similar atmosphere as experienced at the Riverside on Friday evening. Sadly not the same, as I've learnt Ibrox only really rocks when we face the bigger teams.

jeff winter
Now that's what I call a banner. Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.

jeff winter
Here we go - Rangers v Queen of the South and apart from the obvious benefits to the club, getting through fills two dates in my diary for the next week.

jeff winter
Great to see Ibrox full again, ticket prices help, but the feel good factor is back. Few tweets from the filthy unwashed - it's so fucking easy to block them, I don't know why they bother!!

jeff winter
Not exactly straightforward but after a fairly uninspiring 90 minutes Rangers are through. Never really felt that they wouldn't, despite gifting Queens a lead. Always looked comfortable in possession. Equaliser that looked suspiciously offside from the stands, but was good lining from the Lino.

Funniest thing of the afternoon was Moshni proving that some footballers are brain dead. The show boat pony did his usual "Look at me" routine instead of actually properly warming up. Then when he came on, with minutes remaining, instead of running the clock down tries a worldy from 50 yards and gives away possession!! Fucking Tool!!

Anyway, job done. Now to get tickets for Hibs!!!

jeff winter
Tuesday morning ready for a busy day, firstly Newcastle Races to watch Lady Ibrox run then Metro Arena to see Take That. Best part of the day though, the knock on the door by my post lady. Tickets I ordered arrived for Monday's little game at Wembley.

jeff winter
"Where's Winter?" Posh seats for the Queen of the South game, well at a Fiver I could afford it!!!

jeff winter
A new jockey on board Lady Ibrox, Ben Curtis, we had decided on a change after a far from satisfactory performance from our usual pilot last week at Beverley.

jeff winter
Job well done, our horse finished second, staying on well at the end of the race conceding ten pounds to the winner. Very happy, step up to six furlongs likely in the future.

jeff winter
Straight from the races to the concert, warm up act Ella Henderson set the tone but I couldn't imagine what was to follow.

jeff winter
What a show, forgetting the music the stage show was fantastic, in fact better than that.

jeff winter
Pure theatre and certainly a change from the abundance of play off matches!! But Wednesday and back into the football routine, back up to Ibrox for Rangers v Hibs.

jeff winter
Only Cameron and myself aboard for the Wednesday night trip to Ibrox for the first leg against Hibs. Pre match Rolls Royce Club but most importantly a meet with a very good friend who had come up with another ticket for Teesside Loyal Neil. A Godsend because I'm working in Halifax on Friday evening so won't be home till 2.00am, setting off for Easter Road at 7.00am, so keeping eyes open whilst driving might have been difficult.

jeff winter
Another brilliant display from the UB, pity that some in that end chose to then continuously throw the rolled up paper onto the pitch during the first half. The Doyles hadn't the sense to realise that the resultant stoppages weren't helping the team!!

jeff winter
Ready to go and a bumper crowd is bouncing, two games against a young, mobile and skilful side that is probably the bigger hurdle to gain promotion than Motherwell.

jeff winter
Half time, a 2-0 victory and we'd have taken that prior to kick off. Wasn't confident of that outcome early on as Hibs looked the better side.

Spurred on by the crowd Rangers got the two goals then had to put on a strong rear guard action to keep the Hibs out. Nice lead but this tie is not over by a long shot, next goal vital at Easter Road. Just the matter of the 190 mile drive home, in bed by 2.15am, alarm set for 7.00am to pick Oliver up. Think he'll be looking after me today.

Same to do next Thursday night, hopefully. Taking him swimming this afternoon, more to keep me awake!!

THE WEEK AHEAD

Friday night working in Halifax with good mate Pete Emmett at a local League's presentation evening. Saturday morning and after a few hours sleep, it's up to Easter Road for Rangers second leg Premiership play off game against Hibs, dependant on the result of that it'll be Ibrox again next Thursday for the game against Motherwell. In between the small matter of a game at Wembley Stadium on Monday.

Enjoy your week.

Are you planning a Speakers Evening or fundraiser? You can be assured that as well as speaking I will give maximum help to fundraising on the evening with my auctioneering skills, contact me regarding availability on jeffwinter@jeffwinterentertainmentandmedia.co.uk.

Just a thought, nowadays many smaller organisations have stopped doing Sportman's evenings mainly due to the economic recession and the increasing costs. If your club doesn't have the numbers to support the traditional speakers evening then why not book me for a one man show, I regularly do these, my normal After Dinner slot followed by a Q & A session and fundraising activities. I can assure you there is more than enough content to fill the night.

Have a good week.
