WINTERS WORLD IN PHOTOS FEATURING A NIGHT, OH WHAT A NIGHT
18th May 2015

jeff winter
Tuesday and my first racecourse visit with grandson Oliver. Unfortunately he didn't bring me too much luck as a rather inept piece of riding by our jockey Dale Swift gave Lady Ibrox no realistic chance of landing a telling blow in a race she should have been placed in.

jeff winter
Thursday evening and arrived at Belper Town FC to speak along with comedian/illusionist Billy Flywheels at the club's Sportsman's Dinner.

jeff winter
Ready to rumble, the cutlery was straight until Billy starting working his magic on it. He's a great act but I hate it when under my nose he's doing things that I just don't understand. Change though from the normal gag tellers and the audience loved him.

jeff winter
You can imagine the fun I had auctioning this!!

Friday evening was always going to be special. Having driven back from Belper the day dragged. Didn't have any tea, not hungry, just apprehensive, nervous. Like being a lad again. Surely the Boro wouldn't blow this. Town was buzzing, The Sun, the Brentford players' comments, everyone was up for this. Karanka wouldn't have needed to do a team talk. As the players entered the field of play, pandemonium, as good as it's ever been at the Riverside.

jeff winter
At one end of the ground the Red Faction were rocking the South Stand.

jeff winter
Line up, you couldn't hear yourself think, nervous tension, farted and nearly killed off the Gazette's finest!!

jeff winter
Fair play to Brentford, they brought getting on 2,000 on a journey north that they are never likely to ever make again in such numbers.

jeff winter
My phone is buzzing left right and centre, scores of Rangers fans are with me tonight. I've converted hundreds into having Boro as their English team. The North Stand publicises the message. #Believe.

jeff winter
Referee Lee Mason, meets the skippers, I hope he is going to be strong enough for this. He is to turn in a great performance, unflustered and totally in control throughout.

jeff winter
Don't like the huddle, but tonight I'll accept whatever it takes. We shall overcome, oh deep in my heart I do believe that we shall overcome someday!!!

jeff winter
Fuck me, we've only gone and scored, the Riverside erupts after Super Lee Tomlin's opener. Brentford aren't at the races.

jeff winter
Brentford prepare to restart as Boro players celebrate goal number two!!!

jeff winter
Almost there, time for sentiment and nostalgia, Johnathon Woodgate about to make a late and possibly final appearance at the Riverside, Sod Stevie G, Johnnie Woodgate is a red, he hates Geordies!!

jeff winter
Aitor Karanka has requested that all Boro fans stay off the pitch at the final whistle. Yer joking aren't yer!!

jeff winter
The stewards attempt the impossible, it's time to salute our heroes, the Riverside after respectfully saluting Warburton, his players and their noisy travelling support awaits the lap of honour.

jeff winter
The final photo as Woody leads the players. Team spirit like you've never seen before. Home for me after the press conference. Respect to Warbuton, class act, the owners are complete wankers, don't deserve him and the team he has assembled, thank God for Stevie Gibson, one of our own. Out with the vodka, tweeting till 1.30am. Four hours in bed then up scribing this. Oh what a night!!! Fuck the trains, 38,000 will walk to Wembley. Up the Boro, #Believe.

jeff winter
The early hours and it's time to get (Grey) goosed!! UTB

jeff winter
Saturday morning and even Oliver is in the mood!! Mighty Boro and we're going up. Me thinks a few Lees, Alberts and even Kikes were started in the bedrooms of Teesside last night. Hope another Grandchild is coming my way!!

THE WEEK AHEAD

Sunday and yet another play-off match, up to Ibrox to see if Rangers can emulate Boro and make progress and face Hibs on the way back to their rightful place at the summit of Scottish football. Monday a trip back to the Riverside to watch my eldest son play in a charity match.

Tuesday, Newcastle Races as Lady Ibrox attempts to get back to winning ways. Staying in the Toon to watch Take That in concert. Wednesday, dependant on Sunday, back up to Glasgow to watch Rangers face Hibs.

Friday night working in Halifax with good mate Pete Emmett at a local league's presentation evening. Saturday morning, again dependant on beating Queen of the South and getting a ticket, back up to Scotland for the Hibs return fixture.

Enjoy your week.

Are you planning a Speakers Evening or fundraiser? You can be assured that as well as speaking I will give maximum help to fundraising on the evening with my auctioneering skills, contact me regarding availability on jeffwinter@jeffwinterentertainmentandmedia.co.uk.

Just a thought, nowadays many smaller organisations have stopped doing Sportman's evenings mainly due to the economic recession and the increasing costs. If your club doesn't have the numbers to support the traditional speakers evening then why not book me for a one man show, I regularly do these, my normal After Dinner slot followed by a Q & A session and fundraising activities. I can assure you there is more than enough content to fill the night.
