WINTERS WORLD IN PHOTOS FEATURING A DAY AT THE RACES AND WATCHING HARTLEPOOL CONTINUE TO PL0T THE GREAT ESCAPE
30th March 2015

jeff winter
After a quiet start to the week it was Southwell Races on Wednesday to watch Lady Ibrox run and here she is before her race. You are supposed to be looking at the horse, not our stable girl Jordan's breasts!!!

Lady Ibrox with Dale Swift aboard before her race at Southwell on Wednesday afternoon. She had an unfavourable draw and didn't like the sand kick back but stayed on well to be pipped on the line into fifth place beaten about five lengths. She is now fit and raring to go for the start of the flat season on turf.

During one of my days of looking after Oliver we went to gymnastics, he loved it, though you wouldnít think so by the look on his face. Then it was down to Loughborough to speak with Austin Knight at a local cricket clubs Sportsmanís Dinner. Enjoyable night though I was sat between the club president and captain. The President liked his wine, understatement, and the captain had a problem with his bowels. Whilst I was speaking I swear he almost shat himself. Difficult to speak with constant farts being wafted in my direction! The things you have to endure to earn a crust!!

Saturday afternoon and after being sat on the M1 for an hour after a car decided to turn itself upside down, I finally got to a very blustery Victoria Park to see if Hartlepool could continue to make the Great Escape a reality.

It's Pools v Cambridge United, bets were already on but I decided on a late additional punt on Jordan Hugill to score anytime and first goal scorer. Mass controversy in my head as he got the final touch on the opening goal, but Brad Walker's header was adjudged to have already crossed the line, bang goes £165. Never mind Pools and I'd backed them to do that along with three match goals or more in the game. I musn't be so greedy!!

Full time at the Vic and the packed Town End celebrates the news that Pools' victory has seen them climb out of the bottom two. Still work to do but the remarkable change around in fortunes continues under Ronnie Moore.

Saturday night, football over, but Oliver staying over, so it's off to the pub for tea. Perfect end to a good day as after watching Hartlepool win heard that Rangers had brushed aside the Blue Brazil. Onward and upward.

THE WEEK AHEAD

Monday night and a visit to The Riverside to watch England Under 21's against Germany, unfortunately Patrick Bamford sidelined but a chance to watch Ben Gibson represent his country. Thursday night I'm speaking at Peterlee Cricket Clubs annual Sportsman's Dinner. Then a weekend of football, Friday Boro at home to Wigan Athletic, Sunday up to Ibrox for Rangers v Hearts and Monday darn sarf to watch Watford v Boro.

Enjoy your week.

Are you planning a Speakers Evening or fundraiser? You can be assured that as well as speaking I will give maximum help to fundraising on the evening with my auctioneering skills, contact me regarding availability on jeffwinter@jeffwinterentertainmentandmedia.co.uk.

Just a thought, nowadays many smaller organisations have stopped doing Sportmanís evenings mainly due to the economic recession and the increasing costs. If your club doesn't have the numbers to support the traditional speakers evening then why not book me for a one man show, I regularly do these, my normal After Dinner slot followed by a Q & A session and fundraising activities. I can assure you there is more than enough content to fill the night.

Have a good week.
