WINTERS WORLD FEATURING A WEEK IN PICTURES
16th December 2014

The column will, like me, be taking a bit of a break over Christmas, unless I get the chance to break from the sun and watch some TV football.

So its Best Wishes to one and all for a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy and prosperous New Year. UTB WATP.

Here we go - another away game and the chance to keep the unbeaten League away run going beyond I believe over two years!! Sadly it was going to end with another abject display lacking passion and skill. Sorry days!!

jeff winter
Many of the older singers voices have started to go but not Suggs. I had seen him on his own earlier this year and again he was brilliant. Groups like UB40 and The Specials have stood the test of time and are as good as ever.

jeff winter
Thursday night at the First Direct Arena and an expectant crowd awaits the arrival of Madness.

jeff winter
Saturday lunchtime and desperate to get Friday nightís debacle in Dumfries out of the system I was at The Riverside for table topping Derby Countyís visit.

jeff winter
Rangers launch yet another fruitless attack on Friday night against Queen of the South.

jeff winter
Despite the ongoing problems and the rumours of Allyís future Rangers fans were out in force on Friday in Dumfries. Visible in numbers but very quiet in terms of noise and support, its not that much fun anymore. The last few years and the ongoing uncertainty both on and off the pitch are taking effect with a bad atmosphere and general dissent to players, management and the buzz of going to the match is nothing like it used to be. Not even a token rendition of "Super Ally" perhaps tells a story.

jeff winter
"Why is your face covered up?" asked the policeman. "Because itís cold!" replied Pele at a baltic Palmerston Park on Friday evening.

jeff winter
Uncle Festa is a Rangers fan, now the policeman is probably wishing that he hadnít asked Pele to bear his face.

jeff winter
Tuesday and its cats and kids for me!

jeff winter
At least some people still have standards!

jeff winter
Subtle hint to children, if my Grandson wants to feed dolls at the Soft Play on Wednesday afternoon then surely that's a hint that he wants a brother or sister!! I certainly wouldn't mind another grandchild!!

jeff winter
Night boat to Cairo.

jeff winter
One Step Beyond!

jeff winter
Catch me if you can. Leadbitter wheels away in celebration after scoring Boroís second goal against Derby County.

jeff winter
Itís a penalty, itís Grant Leadbitter, itís a goal, 2-0 to the Mighty Boro.

jeff winter
Celebration time! Only six minutes gone and Patrick Bamford has already fired Boro to the top of the table.

jeff winter
Here we go - my 2004 FA Cup Final assistant referee Roger East gets ready to give Boro the go ahead to kick off against Derby County at The Riverside.

jeff winter
Top of the table but Derby still brought less than 1,000 supporters to the Riverside on Saturday.

jeff winter
Fulltime and if only for a couple of hours - "We are top of the League"

jeff winter
Battered and bruised Bamford leaves the field after scoring and winning a penalty against a take no prisoners Derby County.

jeff winter
The Red Faction celebrate at full time as Boro comprehensively defeat Derby. Yes, thatís the facts but the press conferences perhaps suggested we only won because Derby didnít play well. Credit where credit is due, we were by far the better team!!

jeff winter
The benefits of luchtime kick offs, I get the chance to take Oliver to The Fun House on Saturday tea time before he has a sleep over.

jeff winter
Perfect end to a perfect Saturday, Boro go marching on and Oliver is staying with me.

Are you planning a Speakers Evening or fundraiser? You can be assured that as well as speaking I will give maximum help to fundraising on the evening with my auctioneering skills, contact me regarding availability on jeffwinter@jeffwinterentertainmentandmedia.co.uk.

Just a thought, nowadays many smaller organisations have stopped doing Sportman's evenings mainly due to the economic recession and the increasing costs. If your club doesn't have the numbers to support the traditional speakers evening then why not book me for a one man show, I regularly do these, my normal After Dinner slot followed by a Q & A session and fundraising activities. I can assure you there is more than enough content to fill the night.

My charity account for MND is still open and taking donations to try and raise funds for the society that works so hard to help people suffering from the disease and I am still hoping people will contribute. Please help me help them.
