Two days to go until Boro face Wolves at Molineux and the squad is still changing. It will continue to do so until the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Downing, De Roon and Ramirez could all still leave the club and Boro fans expect a late bid for Ben Gibson although many are starting to think that he might stay. Overall though I'm happy with the business done since the end of last season.

The departures of Negredo and Chambers were regretful but obvious after relegation but the other departures of "the foreign legion" won't really cause to much upset amongst the Boro faithful.

The possible loss of Connor Ripley is not so good though, the majority of supporters believing that he was most certainly one for the future. No one can complain about his desire to attain regular first team football though and Boro fans are just hoping that his possible departure isn't a decision that the club will regret in years to come.

Supporters are in unison with the change in direction with the acquisition of more attacking players although there is still concern that the squad lacks width, pace and creativity in midfield.

In last weekend's friendly against Augsburg the style of play was so much better than under the previous regime. albeit not too many chances were created. With a more adventurous approach obviously there will be more pressure on the defence but a transformation into "the great entertainers" won't disappoint fans who were disillusioned by the negative approach that Karanka favoured.

With such a change of direction and the influx of so many new players it will take time for the squad to gel and patience will be needed, however supporters buoyed by supportive media comment are convinced that the quality and depth of the squad will see the club achieve its aim of instant promotion back to the top flight.

It certainly won't be easy but I think they will achieve their aim especially if the key creative midfield problem can be solved.
